Is Online Dating For Losers

Is Online Dating For Losers?

When the first online dating sites hit the internet, there was a stigma to those who used them. It was often thought that people who used an online dating site were losers. At that time, those who were unable to find a date in real life were called losers. These people were unable to succeed at making a match with others. They seemed to consistently make the same mistakes when it came to love and therefore were without a date. We have all been there, and there is no shame in this in any way, shape, or form.

What changed is when people began to realize that they did not have enough time to be going out and looking for dates. Their careers became much more important, which shoved the idea of dating way back in the line of priorities. People realized that going out 5 times a week to find dates and have drinks every night at the bar was not the most efficient way to find compatible people to date.

Millions Of People Use Online Dating

I guess that one could say that there are millions of losers worldwide today. Tinder is one of the many online dating sites that have members in excess of 30 million people. Many of these dating sites go through the same cycles as far as membership numbers. Then the numbers start to dwindle, and new methods of using Tinder and the others come into the mainstream.

Online Dating For Hook-ups

Today, Tinder is known as the best app for quick hookups for those who just want to have sex with no strings attached and for a good reason. Does this make them losers? That answer is in one’s own morals and values. Many would say that it is just as easy to go to the local pub or bar and find someone to take home for a quickie. However, as stated earlier, it is easier to just swipe and chat with eligible people on the app instead of just going out and hitting on people who might not be interested or are already taken. These people are not losers; they are just efficiency enthusiasts.

What Is The Purpose Of Online Dating?

The original purpose for people using online dating sites was to find a date that would turn into a relationship and maybe marriage. There is much to be said and written about whether relationships that started last long or lead to marriest, but there are many examples that prove that they do work. Is somebody actually implying that two people who met and are happily married after using online dating are losers?

Today’s Problem With Online Dating

The issue today is that with so many using the sites, numbers are not equal between male and female users. The sexual orientations are so varied now also that the numbers become skewed between them all. What this means is that more and more often, people are leaving the dating sites with a lower self-esteem and outlook than what they originally joined with. Many of these people become discouraged and depressed due to their lack of experience from dating sites.

Is Online Dating For Losers? – Final Thoughts

No, online dating is not for losers. It is for everyone who is looking for love. Gone are the times when it was thought to be ‘loserville’ because a person did not have a date. On top of that subject, we would also have to think that many people in the acting and music industry are losers. There is documented admissions from many famous people in those industries, Zac Effron and Katy Perry, to name two of them.

Online dating is used as a resource, assistance in locating people that you may be interested in around your area.

All these people cannot be wrong; the founders of these sites can not be wrong since they found a way to match up tens of thousands of couples. There are some who, thanks to online dating sites, have gotten married to the partner.

No one should consider themselves to be losers, and you should not either. There are no losers, just a few people who are down on their luck.
