Is Tinder A Waste Of Time

Is Tinder A Waste Of Time?

Real-life attempts at finding a date get difficult enough that many people give up trying. Many of these people then decide to sign up for online dating apps like Match, Tinder, Hinge, Bumble. etc. Tinder is the most popular one now, meaning that many people heavily use it and are wondering if they are wasting their time.

Tinder is known as the easiest hookup online dating app. The actual purpose of online dating sites is to hopefully find a date and then hope that leads to a long term relationship and marriage.

Will Tinder Help You Find a Date?

What many people do not realize though is that if you can not find a date and long-term relationship in real life, then it is highly unlikely you will succeed at the attempt online. This is also true for just quick hookups.

On the other hand, if you can find yourself a one night stand in real life, Tinder is possibly going to give you one or two more possibilities.

Simply put, using Tinder will likely take you more time to find that quick sexual encounter versus hitting up your local bar or club. To put it in relation, imagine walking into the bar and having all the men or women line up. As you go through, you swipe left or right, the same as on Tinder. This is not how it is done in real life though.

Is Tinder A Waste Of Time Vs Traditional Dating?

In real life, you more than likely go out for drinks with your friends. You talk and have a great time, all while scanning the room. When you sit down to use the Tinder app, you probably are not hanging out with your friends talking, and having a good time. You are alone and bored.

Also, in order to get even one one night stand or quick sexual encounter, it would take a lot of matches on Tinder. This is because, most often, women are much pickier when given so many choices versus hitting up the bar and putting on the rose-colored glasses. After a few drinks, both men and women tend to become better looking. In-person, however, it does not seem to matter. If the intention was a quick hook up, the bar is a faster option.

In real life, people are given many more options and places to find a date or hook up. There are stores, colleges, bowling, restaurants, and bars. This means you could leave work, do some errands such as shopping and go out with friends, and likely be able to get a phone number or two much quicker than trying Tinder.

Tinder offers its users new opportunities. However, these people are likely just as successful or not in real life. So, is Tinder a waste of time? No, but this also depends on how the user looks at it. We also need to make a note of the fact that it seems everyone is afraid to be the first one to message on Tinder.

Pros and Cons of Using Tinder

Unless you are a real talker, it can be difficult to keep a conversation going in online dating. Most think there is only so much to talk about before the conversation dries up. This can be true for most people. It is difficult to know what to say or the questions to ask. The real-life meetups make this easier as the two people can discuss people they see or things happening around them.

One thing that is almost 100% guaranteed is that you will be asked for nude photos. This is due to the fact that you can not screen out those looking for a hookup and those wanting a relationship. What is stated on their profile is not necessarily the truth. Tinder is an online dating app, after all, it is also known to be the hookup site. People can say what they choose to say, especially if this obtains more matches.

Ultimately, whether Tinder is a waste of time is up to you. Logically speaking, you weigh the odds and decide if you have the time to spend swiping right or left, then decide if this is a bot or a fake profile. Then comes the question if you are ready to meet in person. You may have messaged quite often, but is the person safe? What if they are a murderer? What if they are the perfect person and you want to move forward? Again, it is simply a matter of how much time you choose to spend trying to find an online date versus how much easier and quicker this could all be in person.
