Drunk Vs Sober Sex

Drunk Vs Sober Sex: Which Is Better

Sex is an essential part of our lives and our relationships; it means different things to different people. Above all, it is a healthy and natural activity. Many people have sex, whether drunk or sober; but what is better? Drunk or sober sex? In this blog post, we will take a look at the pros and cons of both drunk and sober sex and see which one is inherently better.

The Pros of Drunk Sex

When people drink, they’re less inhibited.

Alcohol is a social lubricant. Most people who’ve had a few will find it easier to talk, flirt, and be social. Likewise, they’re uninhibited in bed. They’re more likely to try new positions because they’re feeling open-minded and less self-conscious. I’ve heard a lot of women say they feel sexier after they’ve been drinking, and a lot of people are more aroused when they’re drunk. All this can be helpful for people who are self-conscious about their naked bodies or their bedroom skills. Drunk people can let their fears fall away and fully enjoy the moment.

People are hornier when they’re drunk vs sober. Generally, people said when they’re drunk, sex is what they want to do the most.

People are hornier when they’re drunk. Women tend to report a difference in attitude in terms of being more “adventurous” when drunk. However, men compared the feeling alcohol gives them to “boldness” or “confidence.” According to a study done by Johns Hopkins University said, “It feels like you get a lot more primal” and said it’s like a feeling doing whatever to get it.

The Cons of Drunk Sex

They call it whiskey dick for a reason. If you haven’t heard of whiskey dick, basically, it’s when you’re too drunk to get an erection, which is sad for all those involved.

Even if you do get an erection, a lot of people, such as myself, have a difficult time climaxing while intoxicated. The orgasm will be much less intense and sometimes non-existent. Of course, the proof of this is that drunk sex might last longer because both parties are experiencing desensitization due to the alcohol. Difficult time climaxing = longer sex. Unfortunately, if it lasts too long, it can become painful, or one or both of you might end up falling asleep before the deed is done. (Been there, done that.)

Furthermore, if you’re drunk, you might not take proper precautions such as condoms. Therefore, you might have feelings of regret in the morning associated with fear of pregnancy and STDs. Also, you might feel bad about yourself, or you might just regret sleeping with the person you slept with. (Beer goggles are a thing.) Also, depending on your level of drunk, you might not even remember it in the morning…

Worst of all, the other person could accuse you of rape if they change their mind now that they are sober.

Having sex drunk leads to increased feelings of shame, especially with women. Yes, it is a double standard created by the society we live in, but women in a study done by Johns Hopkins University commonly expressed feelings of shame for allowing themselves to have sex with someone they felt they wouldn’t have sex with sober.

The Pros of Sober Sex

You are in control. You’re fully aware of what you’re doing. (Did you know that a person can’t legally consent to sex if they’re intoxicated?)

With sober sex, you will remember it; that’s a big pro. You have full coordination, and also, if it’s good sex, you won’t have any problem climaxing. Yay, for the big O!

The Cons of Sober Sex

You’re more self-conscious, which might make you less social. If you’re going to bed with someone new, you might be more nervous. You might be less likely to cum due to that self-consciousness. The amount of nervousness you experience all depends on the level of comfort you have with your body, with sex in general, and with your partner. Drunk sex does away with a lot of the social fears that come with flirting and dating and sleeping with new people.

Drunk Vs Sober Sex: Which Is Better? – Final Thoughts

Go for sober. Sober sex is better. The orgasms are way more intense, and you’re far, far less likely to regret it. Plus, it’s intimate instead of sloppy. The cons of drunk sex are just way too many, in my opinion.

Although buzzed sex might be a nice alternative, the best of both worlds if you will, that way you can have a couple of drinks to relax and set the mood but not drunk to lose control and do things you will regret.
